The Eagle, Brevard's fiercely independent weekly newspaper, is published every Thursday by a blind, disabled veteran, who is fiercely independent himself. Jim Guttenberg started The Eagle in 1998 to stay in contact with the community and friends after losing his sight, control of his hands and ability to walk, as a result of his military service.

Protect Our Children, Inc. is a Florida Based, nonprofit corporation organized under sections 501(c)(3), 509(a) and 170(b) of the Internal Revenue Code. We are an organization of local people committed to fighting the sexual victimization of children. The Guardian Brevard is a free quarterly publication distributed throughout Brevard County via the city halls, public libraries, fire departments, police and sheriff stations. 1000 copies are delivered to the public schools for faculty and staff.
