Description: The Space Coast Marine Institute (SCMI) is a six to eight month moderate security residential facility for juvenile boys ages 14-18 who have committed crimes. The boys have committed an average of 4-12 offenses by the time they are referred to SCMI by the Department of Juvenile Justice. The mission of SCMI is to address the needs of youthful offenders by providing a scheduled curriculum of academic, vocational and mental health awareness activities.
